This will surprise you! Yes, it is a copy, more or less, of one of Cezanne's famous, 'Apples in a Still life'. I did it about three years ago to experience his composition and paint handling. I enjoyed it and kept it on view in my upstairs studio. One day a young lady came with a friend of hers who already owned a few of my paintings. The lady said to me, "I love that painting Gabor!" I said, "You know it's a copy of a Cezanne?". To which she replied, "Yes and is it for sale?" I was speechless (like for a second or two) then I said: "For you my dear of course!!" She bought it there and then and since has bought a few more! (Note: This story was recounted to the webmaster by Gabor, June 2005)
