Wilderness: Images based on Tom Thomson's photographs
New Work by Paul G. Russell
Images digital and acrylic that reference the photographs taken by Thompson between
1911 and 1917,
and discovered in his belongings, 50 years later.
He photographed friends, fresh caught fish, birds and the wilderness as viewed from
his canoe.
Russel re-imagines these images using digital photographic technology and paint.
